There has been a lot of border tension between China and India lately due to which Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has banned more than 100 chinese linked apps yesterday. These apps were banned under the Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
Why has the Government banned these apps?
The consumer chinese has been known to use consumer and enterprise technology companies for espionage. As a friend, China and their tech firms got the benefit of doubt so far. Now that China has shown its hand openly by attempting to seize Indian territory. The government is clear that it wants a Chinese-tech-mukt-Bharat (Chinese tech free India)

How many Chinese apps have been banned in India?
This month the government banned 118 apps including PUBG mobile. In June 59 apps were banned including Tiktok. By this, anybody and their sister would know that India really is taking BIG steps to save itself from cyber spying. These steps have created a lot of problems in China as now they won't likely be able to steal data from the country.

The ministry of Information Technology has invoked its power under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the information technology (Procedure and Safeguard for blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009.

PLENTY
There are like hundreds of alternatives to all the big chinese apps. Even many big and known companies like microsoft and google have their own alternatives. There are many Indian apps like Inmobi, Sharechat etc.
